On May 23, the Comox Valley RCMP received a report that a woman had been assaulted at a park on the 2300-block of Kilpatrick Avenue in Courtenay.
The 21-year old woman reported that at approximately 7:45 a.m. she was walking through Bill Moore Park when a man approached her from behind and grabbed her arm. The woman turned around and kicked the man who fell down before she fled.
The man is described as:
• Caucasian
• Approximately 5’9″ with a thin build
• Approximately 40 years old
• Disheveled appearance
• Curly brown hair, possibly longer at the back
• Wearing a faded red running jacket with a horizontal reflective stripe on the back
• Wearing black jeans, ripped at the knees
