Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 32 calls for service from November 20th, 8 a.m. till November 21st, 8 a.m.
During the same time period, eight people were lodged in Terrace cells – seven of these people were lodged for intoxication.
Downtown Terrace
Intoxicated group of people in a back alley by the Inn of the West. Checks were done of the area. An intoxicated 19-year-old woman was arrested.
Two intoxicated people on Emerson St. A 38-year-old man was arrested. He was belligerent and attempted to kick and strike the police officer.
Possible impaired driver operating a taxi. Police spoke with the driver. He was sober. Unfounded.
Two intoxicated women refusing to leave a restaurant on Greig Ave. They left prior to police attendance. Checks were done of the area.
A woman refusing to leave a hotel. Police spoke with the woman and advised her that she was no longer welcome and offered assistance to leave. The woman walked away from police and called 911 requesting police assistance. After discussion of options available, police escorted the woman to her room where she gathered up her belongings and left. Later in the evening, police received numerous 911 calls from the same woman. Due to comments uttered, the woman was apprehended under the Mental Health Act and transported to Mills Memorial Hospital. She was later dealt with again by police.
A white 2005 GMC Sierra driven by a man in his early 20’s nearly hit a fence on leaving McDonald’s. Checks of the area were done. Ongoing investigation.
Police observed several youth assisting a grossly intoxicated girl at McDonald’s. The girl was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital by BC Ambulance for assessment due to her level of intoxication.
Two intoxicated men in Brolly Square. A 42-year-old man was arrested.
Domestic outside of the Husky.
A man and woman sitting on the steps of a daycare on Sparks St arguing. A 20-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man were arrested.
Elsewhere Terrace
Assist New Hazleton RCMP with warrant execution of a 22-year-old woman.
Personal papers were found on Tetrault St. Police contacted the owner.
911 call. The person calling could not be understood. Police were able to track the woman down after numerous queries. She was passed out and not in distress. Ongoing issue of the woman calling 911 whenever she is intoxicated.
Abandoned 911 call. A man was refusing to leave. He left prior to police attendance. No offence committed.
911 call from a payphone at Mills Memorial Hospital. Numerous queries were done and it was determined that a child was left to play with the phone. The parent did not realize that 911 worked without money.
Suicidal 19-year-old man. Police spoke with the man. Unsubstantiated.
Domestic on Walsh Ave. A man could be heard yelling at a woman. Checks were done of the area.
Familial dispute. A 14-year-old girl refusing to return home. Police located the girl and spoke with her.
Group of youth at a school ground on Loen Ave. causing a disturbance. Police spoke with the group. A 25-year-old man passed out in the area was arrested.
Intoxicated people in George Little Park. Police arrested a 29-year-old man. Another man was transported to the Damp Shelter.
Thornhill
A blue Chevrolet Cruz was pulled over on Hwy 16 near Kofoed Dr. The 20-year-old driver provided a sample of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in a warn. She was served an Immediate Roadside Prohibition.
A warrant was issued for a 39-year-old man for failing to comply with a probation order.
Abandoned 911 call. On callback a female could be heard but not making sense. Police spoke with a woman who stated that she heard a person at her door so dialed 911. No issues.
Assist Ministry of Children and Families with apprehension.
Two women fighting and a man with a gun at the Northern Motor Inn. Police spoke with a woman who had been assaulted and sustained minor injuries. The gun complaint was unsubstantiated. The assault is under investigation.
Abandoned 911 call from a cell phone. Numerous queries and checks were done.
Rural
Landlord/tenant issues. Police gave advice on the matter.
