A Calgary woman is dead following a crash east of Revelstoke early Monday morning.
The crash happened on the Trans-Canada Highway when the vehicle went off the road nearJumping Creek Forest Service Road on Monday, Sept. 28, at around 2:30 a.m., said Staff-Sgt. Kurt Grabinsky of the Revelstoke RCMP.
“The vehicle, a Chrysler 300, was traveling eastbound when it left the roadway to the right and collided with several trees down the embankment,” wrote Staff-Sgt. Kurt Grabinsky in a news release.
The male driver survived the crash and was taken to Queen Victoria Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The 24-year-old female passenger did not survive.
The name of the victim will not be released, until family are notified.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
