A woman who was submerged for an hour and a half in the Serpentine River was revived and is clinging to life in hospital.On Monday at about 9:50 a.m., a woman in her mid-20s was driving southbound on Highway 99 when her black, late model Honda Civic veered through the barrier of the Serpentine Bridge. Police said speed is believed to be a factor in the accident.The woman and her car plunged into the four-meter deep water and rested upside down on the silty bottom.An RCMP dive team managed to remove her from the vehicle and emergency crews revived her. She is still listed in grave condition as of Tuesday morning. She was the lone occupant of the car.Any witnesses to the accident are asked to call the Deas Island Police at 604-946-2184.
