Woman in custody in Fort St. James after incident with a knife

One woman is in custody and will be brought before a judge after an alleged knife-wielding incident.

One woman is in custody and will be brought before a judge after an alleged knife-wielding incident.

RCMP responded to a report of a woman with a knife chasing a man in a parking lot of 500 Stuart Drive E at 3:50 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4.

When RCMP arrived on scene, the woman fled into the building and the man, suffering a stab wound to the arm, had locked himself in a vehicle.

The woman had also reportedly slashed the vehicles tires while he was inside.

The female was taken into custody and will be taken for a mental health assessment in Vanderhoof by a doctor there.

She will be appearing in court as well.
