Women’s march to be held in Kelowna today

The march takes place at 11:30 a.m. at the Dolphins

An annual march for women’s rights is taking place in Kelowna today.

Hosted by March on Kelowna, the march aims to commemorate the importance of fighting to protect the rights of women, according to the organizer’s Facebook post.

“Since January 2017, Women’s marches have taken place around the world to commemorate the importance of fighting to protect the rights of women, girls, and gender equality. These marches also defend the rights of Indigenous Peoples, people with disabilities, LGBTQSI communities, the environment, immigration, workers, and in fact, justice and liberation for all marginalized peoples,” the post said.

The marchers will meet at the Dolphins on Water Street at 11:30 a.m. and will march to Kerry Park and back.
