Construction is set to begin on washroom and water fountain facilities at John Phillips Memorial Park.
Sooke council supported the final details of the $90,000 project Monday with the approval of a $26,000 contract to Ramida Enterprises to construct the fountain and septic tanks.
After rejecting two proposals last August because the quotes exceeded the allocated funds, council called on municipal staff to investigate the purchase of precast units for the John Phillips site.
Earlier this year, Timberwolf Precast won the $65,000 contract for the washroom building.

The washroom and fountain will be located in the southeast corner of John Phillips Park, adjacent to a pathway that runs parallel to the Sooke Municipal Hall parking lot.
The facility is vandal and graffiti proof and universally accessible, and is expected to be open by mid-August.
“I think it’s wonderfully functional and has a bit of character,” Coun. Jeff Bateman said.
“It’s long overdue.”
