A Tim Hortons customer in Colwood got more than he ordered when a man walked in and randomly spat on him.
On July 7 at 10:15 p.m. West Shore RCMP were called to the Tim Hortons on Island Highway.
A man had walked into the restaurant and spit on a customer, without provocation. The spit hit the man in the right eye, mouth and arm.
“This was an unprovoked assault, with the suspect walking past the victim and spitting at him for no apparent reason,” said RCMP spokesperson, Cpl. Kathy Rochlitz.
The suspect left Tim Hortons immediately after and the victim and a friend went after him. The suspect jumped on a mountain bike and took off towards West Shore Parks and Recreation. He is described as Caucasian with dark, curly hair to his ears and with noticeable sores on his face. He was wearing a dark T-shirt with writing on it, capri pants and another piece of clothing draped over his shoulder.
The man who was spat on went to the hospital where staff said he would be fine.
“Just given the type of incident that happened and not sure of what different people carry in their body,” Rochlitz said.
West Shore RCMP is asking anyone with any information on the incident to call the detachment at 250-474-2264.
