The members of this year’s Wounded Warriors team face the challenge of running from Port Hardy to Victoria in seven days to raise awareness about first responders and military veterans struggling with post-traumatic stress.
This is the sixth year of the run. It made its way to Qualicum Beach today (March 1) and were greeted at the Qualicum Beach Royal Canadian Legion Branch 76, where the runners, along with their support group were treated to a hot lunch. Prior to that they also visited the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 211 in Bowser.
After stopping in the Parksville Qualicum Beach area, they head to Port Alberni.
Throughout the run Wounded Warriors is raising funds. Their goal is $100,000 and as of today, they’re already at $78,000.
