Two people suffered minor injuries after the truck they were traveling in slammed into a light standard at Yale Road and Alexander Thursday afternoon.
Four police vehicles – including an unmarked car – quickly surrounded the late model pickup struck.
Police had been looking for the vehicle for about 30 minutes after responding to reports of an erratic driver on Lickman Road and Progress Way.
An RCMP member spotted the vehicle on Yale Road and was in the process of turning around to follow it when the driver took off.
The accident happened at around 2 p.m. The truck was coming off Yale Road and onto Alexander when it plowed into the light standard.
The two occupants were held in the back of separate police cars until paramedics arrived.
One person was later transported to hospital.
Both people were later released. The driver is facing several driving infractions, police say.
