UPDATE: A man died in a crash on Yellow Point Road just south of Nanaimo on Tuesday afternoon.
B.C. Coroners Service confirmed it is in the early stages of its investigation after a man in his late 30s died in a single-vehicle crash.

PREVIOUSLY POSTED: One person was taken to hospital following a serious motor vehicle crash this afternoon.
A section of Yellow Point Road remains closed after a pickup truck rolled over and went off the road at the intersection with Hill Road at about 4:40 p.m. Tuesday.
North Oyster and North Cedar fire departments, RCMP and B.C. Ambulance Service were called to the location and Ladysmith fire department was on standby.
Florian Schulz, chief of North Oyster Volunteer Fire Department, said a female occupant of the truck was extricated from the vehicle and was transported by ambulance. He said there was an air ambulance staged at North Oyster Elementary School.
“The second occupant got extricated significantly later once the RCMP had done some of their investigation,” he said.
Traffic analysts were investigating and RCMP said that the section of road would be closed for several hours. Schulz said at about 8:15 p.m. that the section of road was still closed.
