The last of the concrete for the Ymir Skate Park was poured last week. There were over 40 volunteers there to level and finish the cement. Once the cement cures, sealant will be applied. The goal is to have the park open for the Tiny Lights Festival which begins June 12.
RDCK parks manager Carey Gaynor said, “It’s a great community thing as it was the Ymir Community Association who got this started.”
“An excellent job!” said Area director Hans Cunningham, adding the park was built mostly by Ymir resident volunteers for less than $25,000.
