Clearwater Secondary School students recently participated in the Canadian Blood Services’ national Young Blood For Life challenge and the One Match Step Cell program.
Seventeen students travelled to Kamloops to become new blood donors and make their life-saving first donation.
The process from interview to cookie and juice consumption took each student about an hour.
Students then also joined the One Match stem cell registry, a global registry for stem cell donation, which can provide a cure for a patient with leukaemia.
All it took was an hour of their time to save a life.
Our community should commend these students for their time and donations for these life-saving programs.
