Little reprieve from the rain in the next week, but a relatively easy commute with minor congestion

Good morning! It was a little wet to start to the day today at 7 C as of 7 a.m., and the Environment Canada weather service tells us we’ve got 86 per cent humidity and 18km/h winds from the south-southwest, gusting to 28 km/h.

Today, we’re looking at a high of 9 C and mainly cloudy as showers end around noon, and a low of 6 C overnight with 10-15 mm of rain expected.

And we can expect little reprieve from the rain this week, with only Friday forecast to be cloudy during the day before turning to showers overnight.

Friday aside, we’re looking at everything from a 60 per cent chance of showers to rain, according to Environment Canada, with highs dropping from 11 C on Thursday to 5-6 C through from Friday to Tuesday. Lows are set to drop from 5 C to around 2 C.

Currently, visibility is 13 kilometres.

On clear roads and driving at the speed limit, a drive from the Abbotsford News building to Downtown Vancouver would take 50 minutes.

Today, your daily commute time as of 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018 is one hour 23 minutes, with only minor congestion along Highway 1 in Langley and some sections of heavier congestion past the Port Mann Bridge.
