Clearing skies today, making way for an almost perfectly sunny day. Delays in Langley and past the Port Mann

  • Oct. 18, 2018 12:00 a.m.

Good morning! There was fire in the sky this morning, as the rising sun lit up a mostly cloudy morning, starting the day at 8 C as of 7 a.m. The Environment Canada weather service tells us we’ve got 90 per cent humidity and 5 km/h winds from the north-northwest.

But those clouds are set to clear up by afternoon, making way for another sunny day and a high of 20 C.

Tonight is expected to remain clear, but with a few clouds, with a low of 8 C, and tomorrow looks like much the same — sunny, with a high of 20 C and a low of 7 C overnight with clear skies.

It looks like we’ve got just five final days of sun, though, with Saturday to Sunday expected to be sunny with highs of 18 to 19 C. After that, Environment Canada forecasts clouds and showers on Tuesday and Wednesday, with highs in the mid-teens and lows of around 10 C.

Currently, visibility is 24 kilometres.

On clear roads and driving at the speed limit, a drive from the Abbotsford News building to Downtown Vancouver would take 50 minutes.

Today, your daily commute time as of 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2018 is one hour 16 minutes, with plenty of traffic stalls along Highway 1 in starting just before the Port Mann Bridge to 1st Ave. in Vancouver. In Langley, just a few smaller sections of congestion.

If you’re coming from Chilliwack, you may expect to see more delays, with a crash on Highway 1 at Cole Road westbound.
