Heavy delays in Coquitlam on Highway 1, and what looks like a final day of clear skies

Good morning! It was warmer, clearer start to the day at 17 C C as of 7:00 a.m., and the Environment Canada weather service tells us it’s mainly clear skies with 47 per cent humidity and 24 km/h winds from the northeast.

Those few clouds in the sky are set to clear up this morning, making way for another sunny day and a high of 24 C.

Tonight is expected to remain clear with a low of 11 C, but tomorrow looks to change from this sunny streak. Environment Canada expects increasing cloudiness during the day with a high of 11 C, and from Saturday night straight through Thursday it is expected to rain or bring chances of showers.

Highs are expected to range from 12 C to 16 C, with lows from 8 C to 11 C throughout the incoming week.

Currently, visibility is 24 kilometres.

On clear roads and driving at the speed limit, a drive from the Abbotsford News building to Downtown Vancouver would take 50 minutes.

Today, your daily commute time as of 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018 is one hour 19 minutes, with Google Maps recommending a detour over the Golden Ears Bridge, off the 200 St. exit. stalls along Highway 1 in Langley, and through from the Port Mann Bridge to 1st Ave. in Vancouver.

Delays along Highway 1 in Coquitlam are expected to be long, following a vehicle incident near the King Edward overpass in Coquitlam, according to DriveBC.
