Youth writers from KSS take over The News in today’s edition

Here's a whole different perspective on local and world events

As promised, today’s edition of The News features a plethora of articles by students from Kwalikum Secondary School.

As part of a project in teacher Kati Worthen’s Grade 12 English class, The News gave a short presentation on journalism and community newspapers and helped set the students on their way.

They held an editorial meeting and came up with a list of stories to pursue over the spring break in March. In fact, they had stories coming in right up to deadline.

We hope you enjoy reading their efforts and you will find that local youth are thinking about some of the issues adults — and even local politicians — are talking about in the mid-Island region.

The stories begin on page A7 of today’s News and include opinion pieces on today’s editorial page.

As always, feedback is welcome.
