B.C.’s COVID-19 vaccination program has begun accepting registrations and booking appointments for children aged 12 to 17, Health Minister Adrian Dix said Wednesday, May 19.
The vaccinations will be done at community clinics where facilities and staff are prepared to handle sensitive vaccines, not at schools, as the province has opened up vaccination bookings for all adults in recent days, Dix said.
As of May 20, Northern Health’s vaccine webpage still lists people 18+ as eligible for registration and booking.
Northern Health is also asking people that have received one dose to register for a second shot using the provincial registration system. People that received their first dose before online registration was available should register now for their second dose, according to Northern Health.
There was a reported COVID-19 exposure on Air Canada flight 8239 from Terrace to Vancouver on May 13. Rows 14-20 were affected.
