Bernice Agnes Rendall (nee Grigg)

November 6, 2023
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Bernice Agnes Rendall on November 6, 2023, at the age of 91.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Dr. Morley Rendall, four brothers, Elmer, Dean, Dennis and Weldon Grigg and sister Arlene (Fetterly).
She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her children, Jeff (Carla), Brad (Brenda), Deena Apeldoorn (John), four grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Her life revolved around her family. She loved to quilt and made many quilts for family members.
In her earlier years she loved playing baseball and then later participated in fencing, curling and golf. She took up golfing with Morley and in 2009 she achieved what very few golfers ever do in the sport. She made a hole in one.
Bernice was also a member and past president (1995-1996) of Chilliwack’s PEO chapter. PEO is an international organization and sisterhood that supports education for women. As a PEO member since the 1980’s, Bernice was able to help hundreds of women attain their quest for more education by helping to raise funds for loans, scholarships and grants.
Bernice was also an integral part in raising Simmental beef with Morley on the Jebradeen farm in Rosedale. Their pride and joy were winning ribbons and “Premier Breeder” banners at fairs across B.C., Edmonton and Saskatoon.
Bernice was the matriarch of a large extended family and was always able to establish order on numerous fishing trips and other family events that were enjoyed by all who attended. Although she spent a lot of time preparing meals, she still enjoyed the fishing and on more than one occasion caught “The Big One”!
Generous, kind, loving, with a sense of humour, she was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. She will be sorely missed, but always with us.
