November 13, 2023
Captain Steve Snitchuk has taken his last voyage, peacefully sailing off into the sunset where he will be met by his beloved wife Annie, his granddaughter Krystal and his little dog Buddy on November 13th, 2023. His love for the water led him to many places, on many voyages and many adventures.
Going through his 91 years of life Steve filled his days with camping, fishing, gardening and of course his trips up to the casino to play his one and only slot machine. He was loved by everyone there and they always made sure to get his machine ready and his breakfast order going when they saw him.
He was a kind man and would greet you with the biggest smile, a gentle man, someone you could count on for a great story. If you asked about his tugboat Rivtow Captain Bob, be prepared to sit, and enjoy hours of stories; stories that are now in our memories.
He answered to many different names, brother, dad, pops, grandpa, granddad, and great grandpa. He will be missed by his remaining sister Victoria Duff, daughter Deb (Al) Hogarth, son Doug (Vivian) Snitchuk, grand-kids Aleesha (Travis), Heather, Keenan (Jordan), Tristan (Amber), Cris (Brenna) and great grand-kids Devin, Jordyn, Jackson, and Logan.
So we’ll cry cause it’s over, smile because we had you, and in time, we’ll start healing, but even when we get that feeling, we’ll never not remember you.
We want to thank the Maple Ridge Fire Department, BC Ambulance Service and the doctors and nurses at the Maple Ridge Hospital who cared for Steve in his last days.
No service will be held, at Steve’s request.Obituary-
