John Paul Zaitsoff

March 14, 1940 – November 12, 2023
In Loving Memory ~
It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of their beloved uncle John Paul Zaitsoff at Castleview Care Centre on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at the age of 83.
Paul was born in Gibson Creek, BC (Pass Creek) on March 14, 1940 to William and Flora Zaitsoff. Oldest brother Bill, sister Violet, and twin brother George completed the family. In time, Robson, BC became the permanent homestead.
Although Paul was born with cerebral palsy, this did not deter him from following the strong family work ethic. He toiled alongside his siblings contributing where possible and was instrumental in keeping the yard well watered and tended to. He became known as the Robson neighbourhood patrol as he toured the Robson townsite in his wheelchair.
Paul enjoyed the outdoors, going for drives, visiting with family and friends and listening to country music. Time spent with his siblings was always memorable and he enjoyed getting into mischief with his brothers. The bond he shared with each of them was truly special.
Paul was a beautiful soul with a heart of gold. His infectious smile would light up any room. He had a great sense of humour and laughter brightened his days. To those who took the time to return a smile to Paul, greet him, stop to share a story or joke and visit with him, thank you. He appreciated these simple things.
Paul has had much to endure during his lifetime yet he remained strong and positive to the end. The family has truly been blessed to have Paul be a part of our lives. Precious memories will live in our hearts forever. We wish his soul eternal peace in God’s Heavenly Kingdom.
Paul was predeceased by his father William (1980), his brother Bill (1980), his brother George (1993), his mother Flora (1998), his sister Violet (2019) and sister-in-laws Louise Zaitsoff, Laura Zaitsoff and brother-in-law Peter Masloff.
He is survived by 7 nieces and nephews: Debbie (Dean) Scott, Barry (Barbara) Masloff, Brian Masloff, Ron (Catherine) Zaitsoff, Gordon (Lori) Zaitsoff, Caroline (Jack) Padmoroff, Barbara (Rob) Klein, and families.
There are not enough words to express the family’s gratitude for the exceptional care, compassion and friendship Paul received from the staff at Castleview Care Centre over the years. So many stories, so many laughs, so many potential brides and so many special moments. You were all like family to him.
Thank you to the doctors, nurses and other medical personnel who played a role in Paul’s health care.
