It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Ken on November 6th, 2023 he was taken to Nanaimo General Hospital where he passed away two days later. Ken was predeceased by his wife Dorothy in 2014, his parents, Sid and Phyllis and his grandson Christian in 2007.
Ken is survived by his second wife Linda, his sons Greg, Tim, and Brad, his sister Anne and grandchildren Chelsea, Adam, Josh, Sydney, Peyton, Nash and Duane. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren Arian and Emery.
Ken was born and raised on Saltspring Island then moved to Victoria as a teenager. He spent almost his entire adult life working for Pacific Logging and Pacific Forest Products until he retired. He met his first wife Dorothy in Victoria and they were married for 49 years and raised their sons together until Dorothy passed away in 2014. Ken and Dorothy moved to Parksville in 1986 where they opened the Ken-Dor Garden Center. Ken-Dor remains open in Qualicum Beach. He was a Dog lover and loved the outdoors. Ken met his second wife Linda and they married in 2020 and remained married until his passing.
There will be a celebration of life at Yates Memorial, 1000 Allsbrock Rd, Parkville between 1:00 pm – 4 pm on Dec 7th, 2023 family and friends are welcome.
