Linda Wiltse (Wolden)

April 24, 1945 – November 29, 2023
In loving memory ~

Linda Wiltse (Wolden), age 78, passed away peacefully at home on November 29th, 2023. A warrior throughout life, she will be forever loved and remembered.

She was born to Einar and Margit Wolden on April 24th, 1945, in Nanaimo and raised in Port Alberni. She attended Alberni District High School and Sprott Shaw Secretarial School. She met her future husband Pete Wiltse when she was 15, she moved to Montreal and they got married when she was 18, 11 days shy of her 19th birthday. Her first job as an adult was at CNR in Vancouver. She worked as an Investigation and Control officer at the Unemployment Office in the CRA for 29 years.

She leaves behind her daughters Wanda Flack of Calgary, Chantelle Huynh of Nanaimo, along with her 4 grandchildren Michael Scow, Courtney Flack, Jesse Flack, and Miles Huynh; 3 great grandchildren Addyson Scow, Oliver Scow, and Penny Scow; along with all her family and friends. In the mornings she would enjoy her online bingo, hearts, and crostics. She loved card games, board games and bowling with family and friends. Other favorite pastimes were reading, watching TV, and listening to music.

Linda had a very full life, doing retirement right. Some of her affiliations included: the National Association of Federal Retirees, Harbor Lites Lioness, Kidney Foundation, Child Development Foundation, Royal Canadian Legion, Canadian National Blind Institute along with keeping herself active by bowling twice a week in the Senior League of Brechin Lanes.

Join us in remembering the life of Linda on Saturday, December 9th at 11am at First Memorial Funeral Services Chapel. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Linda can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Her last words were:
“I love you all and I had a great life, mostly thanks to all of you.”
