Richard ‘Dick’ and Mary Lou Sutton

The Sutton family is having a Celebration of Life for Mary Lou Sutton who passed away August 2, 2020, and Dick Sutton, who died July 10, 2022.
Mary Lou was born on a farm in Holland, Manitoba October 20,1930, the granddaughter of homesteaders who settled in the area. She attended school and college in Winnipeg. She is survived by her brother Rich.
Dick was born July 10, 1928, in Winnipeg’s north end. When they met, they found the love of their lives. They married in 1951 and had three children, Tom (spouse Debbie), Allan, and Ken (AKA Charlie).
In 1967 the family moved to White Rock. Dick and Mary Lou were avid volunteers in the community, Mary Lou in the P.E.O. and Peace Arch Hospital Auxiliary, Dick in the Lion’s Club and minor hockey. Mary Lou began working at White Rock Cablevision/Shaw Cable in 1968 and managed the office until it closed in 1989.
Dick owned the Ocean Park Hardware store from 1975 to 1986 and the Johnston Road answering service in White Rock from 1985 to 1992.
The celebration will be held Saturday, June 24 at 13229 26th Avenue in Surrey, beginning at 1:00 pm. Lunch will be served.
