Robert ‘Oly’ Oldenkamp

July 5, 1954 – November 13, 2023
In Loving Memory ~
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Rob “Oly” Oldenkamp.
Oly grew up in Don Mills, Ontario where he made many life long friends. He worked at Artistat in Toronto, in the dark room developing pictures for commercial artists before moving to B.C. in 1974.
A resident of Tappen for 10 years and then Sorrento for the past 30 years, Oly became a well respected silviculture contractor in the Shuswap and Kamloops area (Arland Reforestation). He employed many locals who remain good friends today.
He played rec hockey for many years in Chase and Salmon Arm and he was a great craft brewer, growing his own hops.
Oly was a good man with a kind soul and had a good sense of humour.
He will be deeply missed by his wife Heather, his brother John (Maggie), his sister Cyndy, brother in law Brian Pooley, sister in law Sherry Pooley and his many loving nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and all his friends.
Oly was predeceased by his parents Andries and Trudy Oldenkamp.
Many thanks for the wonderful care Oly received at Shuswap Lake General Hospital and Parkview Place Hospice in Enderby, B.C.
A Celebration of Life for Oly will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice, or plant a tree in memory of Oly.
Rest in Peace.
