Roger Kenneth Dyck

In loving memory ~

Roger Kenneth Dyck, 83, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2023, with loved ones at his side. He was born on February 2, 1940, in Brighton, England. Born during World War II, he had a difficult childhood in England and immigrated at age 13 to Abbotsford, BC, Canada in 1953 with his mother, stepfather, and three siblings. He attended Abbotsford Senior Secondary School and began working for the Royal Bank of Canada at age 17. He met his wife Irda at the bank in 1958 and they married in 1961 in Abbotsford and went on to have five children. He worked at the bank at many locations throughout BC until he retired in 1994 at age 54. In retirement he had many hobbies including golf, fishing, cars, growing roses, and RVing. Roger had a strong faith in God and is now at peace in the arms of his Saviour. He is predeceased by his father Dennis Hooper, his stepfather John Dyck, his mother Jessie (Jessica) Dyck, his brothers Brian and David Dyck, his brothers-in-law Fred Hawes and William Vanderspek, and his nephew Larry Van Kampen. He is survived by his loving wife Irda, his children Terry (Craig), Greg (Deborah), Trevor (Fiona), Cindy, and Connie (Troy), eight grandchildren Chelsea (Jake), Tony, Hunter (Denika), Conner (Shawn), Alicia, Adam, Holly, and Aidan, one great-granddaughter Daisy, and his sister Janett Hawes, sister-in-law Jean Dyck, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:30 pm on Friday, December 1, 2023, at LifeSpring Church, 3970 Gladwin Road, Abbotsford.
