30 km/h in residential areas

The main roads…would stay the same speed, just the residential areas would change to the slower speed limit.

To the editor:

I would like to suggest that the city of Kelowna enforce a 30 km speed limit in all residential areas. It would provide a far safer setting for all pedestrians and cyclists.

The city of Victoria is considering this as well as some suburbs near Vancouver, as was shared on Global BC TV today.

We recently moved from Airdrie, AB where this is already enforced and it allowed for less road rage and a far more peaceful setting.

The main roads such as Harvey, Springfield, Gordon etc. would stay the same speed, just the residential areas would change to the slower speed limit.
