A matter of respect

Since the summer began, the residents of Marine Drive have been subjected to the usual testosterone-laced motorcycles, as well as speeding vehicles of all shapes and sizes – cars, trucks, buses.

This increased volume of traffic, along with the incessant speeding at all hours of the day and night, has also increased the noise levels.

Since no driver along that stretch seems to appreciate the posted speed limit of 30 km/h, and doesn’t seem bothered by the pedestrians, cyclists or the law, perhaps they would care about the wildlife? This month, a deer was struck on East Beach by a speeding vehicle.

Please slow down. For the sake of everyone. The noise is ridiculous, the safety issues are numerous and it is the law! The police shouldn’t have to be there all the time to enforce the clearly posted law.

Please respect it, and respect other people and the fauna of our area.
