Dear Sir:
This is a response to Doug Webb’s feedback regarding the ongoing debate surrounding Rob Brown’s Skeena Angler columns in The Terrace Standard. Mr. Webb, we all know the relationship you have with Mr. Brown and based on this it is obvious that you two will have the same opinion when it comes to this touchy subject.
The noting of licence plate numbers while people are parked down on the Lakelse/ Herman’s Hole Road is a bit too much.
I see trucks and cars parked at the canyon hole on the Lakelse River and I don’t jot down plate numbers because what they are doing is none of my business just as it is none of your business – or Mr. Brown’s – what I am doing down on the river, whether it is fishing, hunting or doing backflips.
You are not fisheries officers or conservation officers. If this is a field of work you would like to get into, then you take the necessary steps to achieve that. Let’s not forget Mr. Brown’s opinion about me and my truck and mullets and ball cap. I think there was a bit of a jab in Mr. Hart’s letter as well.
Until then there is no need to play river cop on the Lakelse. As for the hunting that is a topic to be debated for the rest of our lives.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion and is allowed to voice it but it doesn’t mean everyone is going to like it. I think this topic and bantering in the paper is done and we should leave it at that.
Kyle Alton,
Terrace, B.C.
