Animal abusers should be taxed

The SPCA cannot keep up with the number of abused and abandoned animals coming into care on a daily basis.

To the Editor,

Re: Let SPCA build its own shelter, Editorial, June 26.

I have to assume you want to start a letter writing campaign as a result of such a misinformed, sarcastic and condescending editorial.

The SPCA cannot keep up with the number of abused and abandoned animals coming into care on a daily basis. Without the support of vets, technicians, foster homes, volunteer help at shelters, donations of toys, blankets and last but by no means least money, there is no way the SPCA could function.

We’re not going to get donations from the perpetrators of these horrendous crimes against animals, so let’s get to them through their tax dollar.
