Thanks again to the hard work of dedicated local volunteers, this past week saw another successful Lake Days festival take place in town.
With attendance even higher than last year’s, despite this year’s constant threat of rainfall, organizers are deeming it a clear success.
The week-long festivities go to show how great a community can be when people step up and volunteer their time and expertise.
Let’s not forget about the area’s other major community festival events, beginning with Bay Days this Canada Day long weekend, in Honeymoon Bay.
The Youbou Regatta, Saturday, August 13, will be another noteworthy event, followed by the Great Lake Walk, Saturday, September 17. As always, the Gazette will keep readers up to date as to what’s going on at all these events.
This week’s Gazette includes as comprehensive coverage as possible of this year’s Lake Days festivities.
Not everything has been covered, and the items that are covered deserve more coverage. If they’d occurred during a slower news week, they would have been.
But, that’s what makes Lake Days the great event people have loved all these years. One quick burst of excitement to kick-start a fun summer at Cowichan Lake
