Answer the question, Bob!
Bob Day is running for mayor of Lake Cowichan and wants to “make local government more friendly and accessible.” Are we supposed to believe that a new “Day” has dawned? My wife and I have known Bob on a first name basis for 10 years. We voted for him in the past two elections, but when we came to him with an important safety issue he was far from friendly and accessible.
Why is he unable to answer our question about the 2012 South Shore Road project? Why does he hide behind police apron strings to avoid answering me?
Councillor MacGonigle didn’t have any answers for me either, but at least he had the courtesy to speak with me when I found HIM in the grocery store one day. Councillor Vomacka had no problem answering my questions and councillor Austin also spoke with me, but neither was in office during the road project.
I believe Bob has a guilty conscience. He knows that making the school zone safe is the right thing to do, but something or someone prevents him from supporting my request to do so. Is he being bullied? I find it highly suspicious that those responsible for the million-dollar road project are so defensive, evasive and hostile. Do they have such big egos that they are unable to accept criticism, or is there some kind of a cover-up going on?
Well, Mr. Day can run but he can’t hide forever because the all candidates’ meeting is approaching and I will be asking my question THERE so EVERYONE can hear the answer.
