B.C. Hydro boondoggle
As chickens often come home to roost, so has this display of ingenuity now come back to haunt the citizens of this province. Whilst the then-premier Campbell assisted ably by Christy Clark, concocted the run of the river power generation syste’ for the benefit of some organizations — did I mention citizens of B.C. ?
“We” who were under the impression that our Wacky Bennett had already looked after that problem many years before, are now at a loss to be told, oh no “we” are now up to our neck in a massive debt load.
Whilst the run of the rivers project supervised by former cronies of above said premier operates with dubious distinction in the Hydro scheme of things; knowing that we were not in need of Site C yet pushing mightily for it to go ahead is the height of government mismanagement also a bane on our fiscal accounting.
Editor, to say what has been done in our name is deplorable, yet saying also that we are only human is a poor excuse for this type of governance.
I have always thought that human beings were built with a modicum of honesty, pride and conscience, yet this lack of self-governance, shown by those we have chosen to represent our thoughts, is a far cry from our hopes and dreams.
