I live part time in Vietnam and read the Progress weekly, the Province daily. I found the story headlined: Veterans service cuts under fire, (Observer, Feb. 6, 2014) very interesting. The comments by Bernie McNicholl brought to mind an HBO movie I had watched last summer in Chilliwack. The HBO movie, Wartorn, with the late James Gandolfini both starring and producing, was a very good documentary on PTSD. I just wanted to add this title to the comments section so readers who were interested could access this movie through the library.
The movie starts with the American Civil War and all the conflicts up to and including Iraq. Even though the movie is produced in America and concerns U.S. soldiers, PTSD is an affliction that affects all soldiers and civilians worldwide. I hope this note can be added to the comment page and readers see the documentary to help fully understand the problems our returning soldiers face.
I think it may be beneficial to some to see this documentary and hopefully they will understand the problem.
