Bethlehem Walk

A really big ‘thank you’ to the Parksville Fellowship Baptist Church and congregation.

A really big ‘thank you’ to the Parksville Fellowship Baptist Church and congregation.

Major Norman Hamelin of the Salvation Army met with the organizers of the Bethlehem Walk at the Baptist church Dec. 20. He was presented with a check for more than $19,000 that had been collected from the four-day event along with more than 1,500 pounds of food.

“What an incredible powerful and positive way to share the true meaning of Christmas,” said Major Norm. The story told by the Bethlehem Walk volunteers brings hope and light into our fast-paced and sometimes dark world. It not only reaches those in and surrounding our district, but around the globe as well. The Baptist Church is one of the valuable partners helping the Salvation Army to do what we do.

Also, it is with heart-felt gratitude that The Salvation Army extends thanks to its many donors in District 69: schools, firefighters, service clubs, grocery stores, event coordinators, businesses, residents and volunteers. Thank you for your time, your talents, your food and, it goes without saying, your monetary donations. We couldn’t do what we do without you. Thanks.
