Another Canada Day is upon us, and fun and festivities are in the air.
Last year, we celebrated Canada’s 150th birthday with huge celebrations across our great country, and this year we will celebrate in a similar way.
Here in our town, there are so many exciting events that are fun for the whole family. From dawn until dusk, all of the activities will keep you active and moving throughout the community.
We are so lucky to live in such a beautiful place, with an enthusiastic crowd of people in our community. It seems like every time there is a big event, everyone comes out of the woodwork to join in for the festivities and support one another.
Organizations and groups in town are constantly raising funds in support of local families and projects, and the community always comes out and helps to make these things happen.
I for one, am a huge fan of community engagement. By communicating with our neighbours and getting to know each other, we can really come together to make this community a great place.
While we’re attending events like these, we interact with people we see on a regular basis, and we meet up with people we don’t get to see every day. We make new friends through each other, and we really get to see what our community has to offer.
So many groups come together in their own ways to celebrate on our country’s birthday. From the Rotary Club and the Lions Club, to the Special Olympics and RCMP, the fire department to motorcross bikes, there’s a little something for everyone on Canada Day, and it will be interesting to see the people who make it all happen. Organizers from these groups work tirelessly throughout the year to put on great events and fundraise, so don’t forget to support them.
Canada Day isn’t just a display of patriotism for our country, it is a love for our communities.
As we celebrate, it is important to appreciate one another, and it is also important to be reminded of the wonderful cultures that make Canada a beautiful place to be. Inclusion of everyone is one of the best steps toward living a happy and healthy life of equality.
So remember to hug your neighbours and support each other and our wonderful community groups on this day of our country’s national celebration. It is each and every one of us that make this country a great one to live, play, and work in.
Happy Canada Day.
