Carl Weber column: Holidays and the nervous system

Wow! Is it Christmas and New Years already?

By Carl Weber

Wow! Is it Christmas and New Years already? Are you prepared? Are you ready for all of the goodies and shared time with those you love? Have you started thinking about your New Year’s resolutions yet (I can hear the boos already!)?

Here’s a mental tidbit for you to take through the holidays to give you non-caloric food for thought.

How do you pick your presents?

How do you reach for your wallet or purse to pay for them?

What lets you drive to the shopping centre and what lets you carry your groceries to the car?

What is affected by all of the sugar in your food and for some, the presence of alcohol in your blood?

What shuts down when blood alcohol levels get extreme?

What allows your stomach to digest all of those holiday treats?

The answer to all of these questions is — drum roll please — your brain and nervous system!

There’s not a single thing you can do without your nervous system. Each thought you have requires the clearest impulses possible to carry out the nervous systems’ designed tasks. Every single purposeful bodily function from digestion (e.g. turning apples into your eyeballs), to your pancreas dealing with excessive sugar requires a clear instruction and therefore a clear nervous system.

Every instruction that you and your body need to be well must be carried by a clear, unimpeded nerve message that passes through your spine. If your spine is not healthy or is functionally out of alignment, those life giving and life sustaining messages can’t give you what you deserve and that’s 100 per centg life and 100 per cent health.

Aren’t you worth it?

How is your nervous system?

Happy Holidays and be safe.

Aloha and Peace.
