I want to remind our citizens of B.C. that although we dwell in a province where democratic freedoms are of little concern, especially when there is another Stanley Cup close at hand and our most attractive premier has a great problem trying to decide which dress to wear for tomorrow’s attendance of government, we still have the right to assemble and debate a major policy that our devoted politicians would sooner not discuss.
I speak, of course, on the most suspicious motion, probably contrived in the back rooms of the legislature and known to many as the smart meter event, an action we are now learning may be fraught with danger for the health of our B.C. populous.
To this end, then we shall appeal to the city council and also the CSRD that it is essential that we hold a public forum. I was much disturbed at the last week’s meeting of the CSRD, where we were not even permitted the chance to ask five questions on the above subject.
A very poor show on the part of the board. A large public meeting now must include representation from Hydro, our people opposing the power meters and lastly a number of unbiased electrical professionals to answer questions from both sides and from the public in attendance. Let the people attend and freedom ring out.
