I feel that a tip of the hat is due to the City of Vernon, mayor, council, managers, employees and contractors involved with the construction of the new sidewalk this summer from 30th Avenue to 46th Avenue, along 25th Street.
Oddly enough a sidewalk was not constructed sometime during the past century as this lower East Hill neighbourhood developed.
However, all has been made right and not only is there a fine slab of concrete for pedestrians and pets now, but there is an enhanced level of safety for all of the students walking to or from one of the four schools in the area.
