As you enter the Peter Bunn Public Works Yard there is a large sign stating “No Commercial Gardeners.”
How many times do we get there and are waiting behind one or more large pickup truck (and sometimes with trailers) with a dozen barrels of garden waste and gardening tools on a rack. Theses are obviously commercial gardeners.
The sign is ignored and when I questioned the lot attendant I was told they are Oak Bay residents with window stickers and cannot be stopped. My neighbour’s gardener has an Oak Bay sticker on his windshield yet lives in View Royal. Whether or not they are residents with valid stickers or not they are still commercial gardeners. What is the point in having a sign if it’s ignored?
