Council not listening if info centre goes in Kelowna City Park

If you go ahead with your plans you, as our city council, are not listening nor do you care as to what the majority of the people want.

To the editor:

Why change City Park? I do not understand why our Kelowna city council would want to change our City Park.

It is a natural, beautiful park. Do we want more roads and paved parking lots?

Leave it the way it is. Don’t destroy Veendam Gardens and our 100-year-old lawn bowling club facilities. The city has just spent thousands of dollars getting it in good shape with the help of the lawn bowling members. It is an asset to our city.

Why would city council want to put a Tourism Kelowna visitor centre in the centre of the park to add to the traffic problem with lots of RVs, motor homes, etc.?

This centre belongs on a highway location where all the traffic can just pull in and see it as they are driving through Kelowna.

Do we really want a concrete pad area this big in the centre of our beautiful park?

Give your heads a shake and think about all this before you destroy what we have.

Do we want this added traffic where there are children playing and people walking?

If you go ahead with your plans you, as our city council, are not listening nor do you care as to what the majority of the people want.
