Subject: upcoming South Cariboo Recreation Referendum
To the editor:
I never do this, but the upcoming referendum is so crucial to the health and welfare of our South Cariboo community I am sending this endorsement from our Arts Council chair Gordon Hoglund, and adding to it my own endorsement as Central Interior Regional Arts Council chair and as a director of the South Cariboo Agri-Culture Enterprise Centre Society;
If you are within the referendum area, even if you are ambivalent about some of the aspects of this voluntary tax referendum, consider the big-picture benefits of the proposal and come out in support of it.
If you are not in the voting area, please ask your contacts within the area to come out and vote in its favour.
It will make the work that so many people devote so much energy to, just that much more effective and useful.

Greetings to all 100 Mile & District Arts Council members and supporters:
This is just a gentle reminder to those of you who live within the South Cariboo Recreation boundaries.
If you would like to see arts and recreational facilities, such as the Martin Exeter Hall, the Lodge complex, and the soccer fields, receive broader based funding so their futures are assured, please vote in favour of the South Cariboo Recreation Referendum.
For more information, see the ads in the Aug. 21 and 28 issues of the 100 Mile Free Press or contact Alice Johnston at the Cariboo Regional District office in Williams Lake (toll free 1-800-665-1635).
To vote, simply show up with two pieces of ID that identify who you are and what your physical address is at a voting poll on Sept. 7, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the following locations: Council Chambers, District of 100 Mile House; 108 Community Hall; Forest Grove Community Hall; or Lone Butte Community Hall.
Remember, you need only be a resident – not necessarily a property owner – to vote.
