Kudos to all your readers who are sending in their comments and experiences with the rip-off that is paid medical parking in Surrey.
If you have to go to these places alone, who is going to add money to your meter while you wait for your test that has taken longer than expected, or your loved one is in very serious condition?
Or what about the medical buildings on the south side of Surrey Memorial Hospital? How can they manage to charge $2.75 an hour versus $4.25 at the Jim Pattison Outpatient and Surgery Care Centre? Even the King George SkyTrain Station is $6 for 12 hours.
We know that parking officials are right there if your time has expired – certainly no consideration given to these patients. We know that you get a ticket if you give your ticket with time left on it to another patient even though we have already paid $4.25 an hour for this spot.
Congratulations to Delta, which does not seem to need to charge their medical patients any parking fees in this anxious time at the hospital or medical office.
Please, Surrey, have some compassion for those of us who have to use these facilities. Enough is enough.
