Demand clean drinking water for Chemainus

I am writing about a subject that should be of utmost importance to all residents of the area. Clean drinking water.

I am writing about a subject that should be of utmost importance to all residents of the area, but somehow seems to have been largely ignored. Clean drinking water.

When I arrived back from a trip out of town a few weeks ago I noticed again what is now a well known sign, advising residents to boil tap water before drinking. I just drove down the hill into town a few minutes ago, and the sign is still there. Boil your drinking water.

We are fortunate to live in pictorial splendour in a mountainous rain forest with low population.

My taxes pay for a high-salaried engineering group overseen by an extremely large group of apparently competent politicians, yet for the past several years their answer to providing life’s most necessary and important product is to put up a sign!

Come on Chemainus residents, residents of the Cowichan Valley, and anyone else interested in living like real Canadians. Please write some letters to the editor, phone the mayor, go see your member of council and demand clean drinking water before someone dies.
