Re: Compromise on leashes needed, Letters, March 17.
The dog owners just don’t get it. It’s not the dogs we don’t like, it’s the doggie-doo. It’s on our shoes in every park and walk in Nanaimo.
Sports people of all ages are slipping and sliding on the playing field deposits, used as ‘off-leash-no pick-up’ areas by community-minded owners. The dogs just love it.
The prettiest park, Neck Point, is another ‘off-leash, no pickup’ area for our faithful friends. Don’t admire the scenery and walk at the same time. Keep your eyes on the path ahead, or else.
Walk around the golf course at Beban Park and admire the baggies hanging artistically from the bushes and branches. Nice.
The dog people just don’t get it. It’s the excrement, not the doggies.
