Doing your own taxes is easy
We constantly hear that a education is very important to every person. This is just a myth. Why? My grandfather immigrated from Europe to make his home in Canada. He did not complete his high school education in Europe. He arrived in Canada as a young man, who could not speak a word of English.
In time, he found a job, which he held until retirement and had to take time to learn to speak and write English. He accomplished it all.
When it came to filing his yearly income tax, he did his tax return himself. Never needed someone else to do his tax return. As a retired Controller, I offered to do his tax return. He told me he can do math, read and write English and that the tax booklet guidelines for information on completing his tax return is easy to follow.
On the other hand we have people born in this country with a completed high school education and can read and write English and also can do math. Many, not all, are just lazy and ignorant when it comes to filing their yearly income tax. They constantly complain that they have to spend money on everything. If they did their own tax return, they could put gas in the car gas tank or treat themselves to a restaurant meal using the money they save from not paying someone to do their tax return.
Unbelievable!
