Don’t litter, recycle

You want to hear from your readers your note in the last letter column said.

So here: walking and driving through our very nicely landscaped, flowering Burns Lake I am appalled to see the carelessness of some of our population as there are so many discarded items: cups, cans, bottles-broken, paper, plastic wrappers – you name it, “decorating” sidewalks, streets and ditches.

Each can/bottle is worth 2-5 cents. Real money. Please, fellow Burn Lakers: pick it up, take it home or put it in the new blue recycle boxes or turn it into cash.

If you don’t need it, give the cans to the food bank. The bottle depot people accept it for that cause. Kids could make money instead of mischief by picking up trash.

Sincerely,

F. Froese, Burns Lake
