Reading the one page spread in last week’s Houston Today regarding the upgrades being done to the new and improved movie theatre/bowling alley/restaurant is not only exciting, but very encouraging to say the least.
If you have a family that enjoys going to a movie often, this is very good news indeed.
You would also know how much it costs to drive to another community to go and see a movie with gas, tickets and of course, concession fees.
I figure with the money we save we’ll be able to see twice as many movies, and not just the children’s variety when we just have to travel a couple of streets over instead of kilometres.
I would gladly book a birthday party in the flashy new bowling alley instead of again driving to another community for such activities.
I myself have even thought about giving bowling a try. I think that we as Houstonites deserve this, and have waited a long time for it.
How wonderful will it be for local families to go out for a nice dinner, check out a good flick then maybe even throw a few bowling balls to end the evening — it will soon be a reality.
This is the part where I rah rah for community improvement and say keep going.
Along with our steadily impressive pool and watching the new hotel get built day by day, I’d say I can almost keep my mouth shut for a little while.
Well, almost.
I’d still like to see more businesses open up in the mall, but baby steps I guess.
I’m glad to see enthusiastic visionaries in town still striving and moving forward to improve our little community.
It may feel like things are moving slowly, but I do think that the improvements that are being made are chugging along at a good enough pace.
These folks are working very hard, and I think that if and when you spot these people working hard to improve all Houston has to offer it’s important to compliment them on all their hard work and beg them to keep going.
