F.S.J. Family Tae Kwon Do

F.S.J. Family Tae Kwon Do will be fundraising in hopes of finding a new home for their club.

Editor:

A registered non-profit Society, the club’s mandate is to support and empower youth, women and anyone wanting to become mentally and physically stronger and healthier.

Tae Kwon Do (TKD) is the most modern of all the martial arts.  It is a version of unarmed combat designed for the purpose of self defence.  It also enables the weak to posses a fine weapon, together with the confidence to defend him or herself successfully against an aggressor.

Now that you know what Tae Kwon Do is and what F.S.J. Family Tae Kwon Do is about, I would like to let our communities of Fort St. James, Na’kazdli and Tl’azt’en know that we as a society are currently fundraising and planning fundraising events to obtain moneys to open a home (Dojang) of our own.

F.S.J. Family Tae Kwon Do is currently training at the David Hoy Elementary School, Monday and Thursday 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. & Wednesday 5 – 6 p.m.  from September to June.

The space at the David Hoy Elementary has been and is a fabulous place, but has become too small for our growing club.  Training space and storage for training equipment is being pushed to its limits.

To continue to stay competitive on a provincial, regional and national level the club needs to be able to train year round.  This is not possible at our current location.

If you have any questions, would like to join F.S.J. Family TKD, as a student or a volunteer please do not hesitate to call (250) 996-1300 or (250) 996-7786.

We must thank Nak’azdli band for the use of the recreation van.  This donation made it possible for so many to attend Provincials.  Thank you to Chad Lantz for driving the van, as well as to Gretchen Vogelsang and Anita Prince for being chaperones.

Thank you and musi cho.
