Federal NDP fading away

The federal NDP is starting to fade away becoming non-existent.

In the recent Nanaimo by election, the NDP finished in third place with 23.1 per cent of the popular vote. In the 2015 federal election, the NDP won the riding with 33.2 per cent of the popular vote. In the riding of Qutremont in Quebec, the NDP lost the 2019 by election with 27.5 per cent of the popular vote. In the 2015 federal election, the NDP won the riding with 44.1 per cent of the popular vote. Both Nanaimo and Outremont were NDP strongholds. Outremont was the riding held by former federal NDP leader, Thomas Mulcair.

As of today, there are 10 NDP MPs that have chosen to step down and not run in the 2019 federal election. The trend is showing the federal NDP fading away.
